EDUCATIONAL TOOLS

Technology project
In preparing the lesson in Mathematics I will use two technologies for lesson planning.

1. Teacher pay Teacher: in this platform, I read the lessons plan of other teachers and compared them to my own lesson plan. I customized my own lesson based on the proposal that the site Teacher pay teacher proposed. The site is a bit difficult to use because all the activities are paid for.

2. Prezi is a good software for presentations that can be made both offline and online. The lesson I prepared on Concept mapping for Complex numbers is animated in Prezi, to enable the students follow the trend of the lesson, with keen attention. The relation between the topics in Complex numbers is seen by the nearness on the same branch of the feature in Prezi that I chose. The hierarchical flow of the subtopics is appreciated better in branches (a real life situation). The animated features of Prezi carries home the concept better in fewer slides and so that much time is gained in the teaching period.
The learning software were used to consolidate the learning of the students. These software are used for formative assessment.

THE TOOLS THAT ARE USED FOR FORMATIVE ASSESSMENTS.
The Khan Academy and Quizlet are fascinating assessment tools that have the interface of games. The learning processes take place painlessly.

3. The Khan Academy exercises can be used to consolidate the material learned in number systems. The exercises in arithmetic drilled the students and learning took place faster than when the students had to learn in static classroom. The range of the exercises supported the levels of all students so that learning took place at the pace determined by the learner. The drill exercises used are in form of games and meet the learning environment of the students of the 21st century. The students can pause their exercises and continue later. They could also save a range of activities and return to assess their capabilities by themselves.

4. Quizlet: a wonderful for software with many aspects that handle memory issues. It can be used in English language to build vocabulary, in social life to test the ability to retain general information. Lumosity has many training sessions on different topics and takes the pace of the learner. The greater the frequency of training, the better the performance the learner and the greater the challenges that the software offers. The platform has games on brain profiles. It has trial for free and full access (paid) options. Students can create accounts and log in and play the game. They forward their modules and the scores recorded in each module for the teacher to use in formative assessment. Social learning software is exiting to students. They can share the strengths among class mates and the teacher is no longer the centre of learning. The student takes the central stage and the teacher is a coach and facilitator.

In the area of career building, the tools below can give the teacher and the counselor a good clue based on the interest developed by the student from the collections he/she makes from the net. Programmes like Pininterest and Wikispaces create the learners platforms that the facilitator can access and assess.

5. Pinterest software is used for collecting objects of interest. The students surf the net and pick or pin objects of interest. The collection of the object made can be used by the counsellor who can easily interpret the strongholds of the student and guide on career choices based on the objects found in the students pin board. A students whose pinboard is filled with objects like graphs, special shapes and containers at an elementary age is science oriented. And a student whose board is filled with people in different activities is surely an arts oriented student.

6. Wikispaces classroom is a platform for sharing of resources. Wikispaces Classroom gives teachers immediate, relevant, and direct insight into student engagement and contribution. That means that teachers can help those who need it most and challenge those who don’t. There are wikispaces for teachers, where they can communicate and share instructional tools and educational tools as well. When the teacher communicate with the student, they can actively engage in what is often referred to as “formative assessment,” Teachers get the tools to quickly communicate with their students as individuals and groups. In the wikispaces for students, they get the flexibility to engage with their peers at their own pace without sacrificing privacy. The end result is more participation and enthusiasm in the classroom. We give you the tools to quickly and easily create assignments, share resources, make announcements, and foster discussion and community.
